Detroit, Michigan– June 18, 2012 – Darryl H. Daniels was elected Chair of the Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC). The announcement ceremony took place during the organization’s 28th annual Airport Business Diversity Conference hosted at the America’s Center Convention Complex Renaissance St. Louis Grand Hotel. AMAC is the only national, non-profit, trade association dedicated to promoting full participation of minority-owned (MBE), women-owned (WBE), and disadvantaged business (DBE) enterprises in airport contracting. AMAC membership is made up of more than 500 corporations, small business owners, airport personnel, and government officials that represent decision makers in airport related business.

Darryl has been involved with AMAC since attending his first conference in 1995. He has been a part of the host committee for conferences in New Orleans and Detroit and has served as national conference chair for conferences in Los Angeles, Jacksonville, New Orleans, Fort Worth, and St. Louis. He has also served on the AMAC Board as regional director and officer and most recently, as vice-chair where he was actively involved in many areas of the organization.

“I’m excited about the opportunities to serve AMAC in my new position. We are embracing a time when our nation is continually diversifying and in need of interconnectivity; AMAC will be there to support those needs.” says Darryl. As Board Chair, Darryl plans to actively promote the inclusion of minorities and women in employment and contracting opportunities. His vision for AMAC is consistent with that of the Board: to establish AMAC as the premier trade organization providing advocacy and resources within the aviation industry.
