Richmond International Airport Terminal Lease Spaces
Richmond International Airport Terminal Lease Spaces
The Capital Region Airport Commission (CRAC) is currently undertaking expansion projects at Richmond International Airport (RIC) that will make improvements to airport parking, public roadway access, the control tower as well as expanding the terminal and concourses. The $250 million dollar expansion project, which began in 2001, is scheduled for completion in 2006. The planned improvements are expected to facilitate the recent increase in passenger activity at the airport, enhance passenger service and stimulate economic growth and vitality. Jacobsen/Daniels Associates was called upon to assist the airport in updating the airports lease space drawings amidst all of the physical changes occurring in the terminal and concourses. The dynamic and constant reconfiguring of physical space in the airport's facilities required a reevaluation of lease spaces in particular to the airlines operating out of RIC.
JDA performed on sites visits to evaluate and validated the lease space drawings previously developed by CRAC and provided effective input towards improving the organizational structure of the lease space exhibits. GIS elements of AutoCAD Map were integrated into the drawings in order to simplify the process of updating lease spaces and drawing elements while maintaining associated databases on-the-fly. Individual airline lease space packages that supplement the lease agreements were developed by JDA staff and utilized by the airport and airport tenants.
