HARTSFIELD-JACKSON ATLANTA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT FACILITY ASSET MANAGEMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY ON-CALL SERVICES

The Department of Aviation (DOA) completed an airport masterplan that established Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport’s (ATL) capital program (ATLNext) needs through the year 2035. Jacobsen|Daniels partnered with Haley & Aldrich, creating the Haley Aldrich-Jacobsen Daniels Joint Venture (HA-JD JV), to provide Facilities, Asset Management, and Sustainability on-call services to ATL in support of the ATLNext program and various renovations and renewal projects.

HA-JD JV took ATLNext’s short- and long-term goals and helped the DOA generate a vision, approach, and project scope for an asset management plan.  Currently HA-JD JV is assisting with establishing facility assessment processes, gathering data, and documenting it in the ATL asset management software. Along with assessments, HA-JD JV performs technical reviews to improve the asset management process.

The data gathered from these reviews will guide ATL in making decisions regarding the disposition of assets based on their life-cycle. HA-JD JV is assisting the DOA in improve regulatory compliance utilizing the ISO certification process along with helping ATL quantify the Total Cost of Ownership of its assets, and support of sustainability initiatives. Given the size of ATL assets, they require the HA-JD JV team to perform professional assessments for each area of building performance standards, including electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, sewer, etc. HA-JD JV is assessing the condition of these assets and reviewing any documents referencing their physical condition to inform recommendations to mitigate any found deficiencies. After identifying deficiencies, HA-JD JV will provide recommendations on how to improve the function of assets under review.
