Why did you join J|D?  

Taking this position at J|D put me back on a path that aligns with my gifts and skill set, which is connecting with people. 

What is the best part of your job?  

Working with so many different people both internal and external. I love meeting people hearing their stories and finding out what makes them tick. 

What would your perfect weekend look like?

Those rare weekends when you pull in your garage on Friday and don’t have any obligations that weekend. A weekend full of rest and recovery, with no obligations to be anywhere but cozied up in my home.  

Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why?  

I lived in Dubai for two years, while I was a subcontractor for the Department of Defense. It was quite the experience! Going on a desert Safari and seeing sand as far as you can see was a surreal experience.  

What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had?  

During high school I joined a one-month program where our group was tasked to keep a hiking trail cleared and prevent erosion. What was odd was they transported us to the job in cattle truck, a big change for a city girl. Hiking up the mountain was quite the workout; they gave us a hard hat to wear and a canteen to keep on us. We were taught to identify trees and learned other things that I still remember to this day. 

What else should we know? 

I’ve reinvented myself several times, this is my third career! I have an Architecture degree, and I taught Design and Graphics for 3 years at Floridia A&M. Since the economy wasn’t great when I graduated, I returned to school and earned my MBA.  After finishing my MBA I entered Banking & Private Equity where I remained for twenty years. I loved the job but after the 2008 crash it was difficult to return to that field.
