Q & A with Melanie
What’s your favorite memory from working at the company?
I really enjoyed our Ronald McDonald volunteering as a company and am looking forward to doing that again. We made spaghetti and Sloppy Joes. It was a very heartwarming experience.
What professional project are you most proud of?
Transitioning the company to the VantagePoint database, it was a lot of work which is ongoing, but I’m very proud of our team.
What is your personal motto?
Keep, learning, growing, and exploring. Go do it! You can always try things once.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I love being active: walking, exercising, exploring…and love being near water. Find me at the beach, pool, and lake hanging out with friends and family.
What would your perfect weekend look like?
A visit to a beach on the East Coast. We’d include exploring. I like to do all the outside stuff you should do, monuments, activities, and such. Whatever trip advisor say.
Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why?
The big island of Hawaii. The diversity of seeing 7 climates all in one place is so interesting, there’s dessert, snow capped mountains, rainforest, and a lot of lava. some sections it feels like you’re on the moon because all you see re these big lava stones.
Also, Chili, for their food, and the different culture and languages. Nowhere can you get hearts of palms so fresh and delicious.
What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?
I love IT so much, but if I had to choose something else, I’d probably choose healthcare.
What’s something that you’ve always wanted to try or learn?
I took 2 years of Spanish in high school. And now I’m using the Duo Lingo app and learning Spanish, which I love!
Tell us something that might surprise us about you:
I like adventure and trying new things. I’ve gone sky diving, parasailing, snorkeling, hiking waterfalls and caves. I’ve even swam with stingrays.
What is your favorite movie genre?
I love action movies! On the big screen I want to see lots of action, noise, and big explosions.
