What is the best part of your job?
The people I work with. Everyone gets a long which is very refreshing. I love helping my team meet their potential.
What is your work motto?
Take care of your people and they’ll take care of you.
What is your favorite snack or food?
Potato chips. I love salt, I’m not a sweets person.
How did you meet your significant other?
My husband was in the Air Force when we met and stationed in the next town over. We met at the beach, he saw me and came over an introduced himself.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Travelling. Being outdoors, kayaking, hiking, camping.
Where is your favorite place to be?
I love being at the animal sanctuary I volunteer at in Africa. It’s my happy place to be sitting in an enclosure napping and playing with a Cheetah. It’s very zen and peaceful. Namibia and South Africa are my two favorite places.
What’s the most interesting job you’ve ever had?
I worked for Department of Defense. My office was at a missile range. I could walk out of the office and see missiles being shot over the dessert.
What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?
A zookeeper or something similar working with animals or an astronomer.
What’s a cause that you are passionate about?
Saving the cheetahs. There’s’ only 7,100 left in the world so supporting the conservation of cheetahs and their habitats so they don’t go extinct.
What’s something that you’ve always wanted to try or learn?
Ice skating. I was a huge roller skater but there wasn’t an ice rink where I grew up.
Tell us something that might surprise us about you:
I like Alternative Rock and Horror movies.
What or who has been your biggest influence?
My husband, I’m a very introverted person but my husband helped me break out of my shell. When I’m quiet and meek he gives me advice how to stick up for myself. He was in the military, so he has a lot of experience leading a team and taking care of people he’s taught me a lot I give him kudos for that.
What is your favorite movie genre?
Horror movies, I like the older ones like Friday the 13th. Halloween was one of the very first one I watched. I try to watch it every year around Halloween. It’s a tradition.
What type of books/movies do you enjoy?
I love psychological thrillers.
