Los Angeles, CA – Jacobsen|Daniels (J|D) is pleased to announce that Jacob Sotsky, Director in the Planning Division, was recognized by Airport Business as a 2018 Top 40 Under 40. Airport Business‘s Top 40 Under 40 showcases the top talent and leading thinkers in the aviation industry who are driving success and innovations for the future. Candidates for 2018 were vetted on innovation, outstanding attributes, and commitment and involvement in the industry.

“Jacob’s daily actions and interactions demonstrate many of the key attributes – innovation, inclusion, and professionalism – that are required to continue to make our industry great,” … “Throughout his career, Jacob has been committed to growing the aviation planning industry through promoting diversity and grassroots growth of talent. Through working on some of the largest development programs in the United States, Jacob continually betters himself and those around him. He is well deserving of this recognition, and I have no doubt his leadership will continue to improve the way J|D sees the journey, differently – and the way our clients and partners see their journeys.”

Matt Johnson – Senior Vice President of the Planning Division.

Currently, Mr. Sotsky is involved with leading the Master Plan effort for the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority, while also continuing to provide program management and advisory services support to the ongoing Landside Access Modernization Program (LAMP) at Los Angeles International Airport. Additionally, Mr. Sotsky continues to support the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority with its Airport Development Plan (ADP) as it works its way through environmental approval. He has led many of the planning efforts associated with the ADP at San Diego International Airport and was integral in the planning, refinement and selection of the new design for the proposed replacement facility at Terminal 1 since 2013.

Jacob S.

“Jacob has demonstrated time and time again his commitment to his clients, colleagues, and family,” said Darryl Daniels, President and CEO. “I first met Jacob at a coffee shop in 2004, and I immediately recognized how unique and strong his skills and background were and that he would make a great impact on this industry. Today, he’s grown into a fearless leader, compassionate teammate, a close friend, and steadfast expert to many in this industry, and I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this recognition.”

Mr. Sotsky holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Tulane University and an MBA from the University of Louisville.
