Rebecca Didio

Managing Consultant

Planning

Rebecca is an experienced project manager with a broad range of technical airport expertise spanning both the private and public sectors. She joined Jacobsen|Daniels as a Managing Consultant from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in 2022. She currently focuses on technical tasks related to airport and airfield planning, project and task management, and business development activities. Rebecca leads initiatives related to master planning projects and associated support elements, as well as tasks associated with larger on-call contracts. Her passion is to understand an airport’s vision and needs, and work collaboratively with the airport and its stakeholders to develop a plan for the future. Her broad range as a consultant and former employee of the FAA allows her a deep understanding of the development of solutions while adhering to federal standards and trends.

While previously at the FAA, Rebecca assisted with a wide range of national programs that served the National Airspace System, including serving as the planning lead on the two-time award winning Runway Incursion Mitigation (RIM) Program. Prior to her work at the FAA, she held a variety of consulting roles at various sized firms where she served as a technical specialist focusing on airport master planning, airport system planning, and airfield planning, among other specialties. She has experience with airports of all sizes from small general aviation to large commercial service, including international island nation airports in the Western Pacific. Rebecca is a Certified Member (C.M.) of the American Association of Airport Executives, as well as a certified group process facilitator for FAA Safety Risk Assessments. She also has a strong interest in aviation research and development, and continues this passion with involvement in the Airport Cooperative Research Program.

I have three dogs (2 Italian Greyhounds and a goofy Pug)!

What Do You Love About This Industry?

I love that every airport is so unique and has its own challenges and successes. Being able to work on a wide range of airport projects, the work I do is never boring!

What advice would you give someone starting out in this industry?

Networking is the single best skill you can have in this industry. Aviation and airport planning specifically is very close-knit where everyone looks out for each other with the common goal of improving aviation for the traveling public.

What professional project are you most proud of?

I worked on the Runway Incursion Mitigation Program for approximately 10 years as both a consultant and with the FAA. We won two awards for it during my tenure, and it is hands-down my favorite project I’ve ever been a part of.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I really love to cook and frequently will seek out recipes that will take me hours to prepare. Also love to check out area wineries and travel whenever I can!

Where is your favorite place to be?

One of my favorite places is the Finger Lakes region of Upstate NY! I love spending time at the wineries along Seneca Lake and the weather is always amazing!

What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had?

Not necessarily weird, but when I was in high school, I worked at a Dunkin Donuts in Massachusetts. One of our frequent customers at our drive-through was Tom Brady!
