Odell (Rick) Flood’s career in the construction industry spans 25 years, providing services in construction management and planning. His experience ranges from serving as the Owner’s Resident Representative on large public works projects to performing various cost and schedule controls functions for analyzing and controlling risk during design, construction and closeout phases.
Rick has worked as the lead project controls consultant for a design/build construction company. He works with company management and construction staff to develop project schedules, construction budgets, schedules of values, cost accounting reports, and other controls, ensuring accurate project scheduling and cost performance reporting. He also provides technical writing and proposal development services during the bidding and planning phases of construction and design/build projects. Rick’s technical expertise in master scheduling was developed over 15 years and takes a program approach to scheduling. His scheduling approach reflects the maximum level of detail known about the project components and understanding how changes in materials or methods affect the project as a whole.

What is the best part of your job?
Working with junior staff, providing training, and seeing them grow and mature into great professionals.
I also enjoy problem solving and consistently needing to apply analytic skills to design and construction challenges. It’s satisfying to look back and see our decisions placed the client in a good position.
