ASE: Airport Layout Planning (ALP)
Translating the Airport Vision Committee’s Recommendations into a Feasible Airport Layout Plan
In 2021, Jacobsen Daniels was selected to Update the Airport Layout Plan for the Aspen/Pitkin County Airport (ASE) in Aspen, CO. The project is the culmination of a community planning process that must be technically translated into an AGIS ALP document, including a technical report.
J|D was selected based on their commitment to create a practical plan that is in alignment with the Aspen community vison of:
- Reducing greenhouse gas and other pollutant emissions by at least 30%
- Managing the growth of enplanements to be consistent with approximately 0.8% growth/year
- Reducing noise by at least 30%
This role includes:
- Coordinating early and often with airport stakeholders, including the airlines, the FAA, and the GA Community.
- Keeping the public informed, educated, and engaged so they understand what is happening and why. Leveraging proactive, open, and transparent communication.
- Crafting messaging that is clear, concise, and technically sound so that it resonates with the local community.
